Al-Arabiya News reports on a new fatwa issued in the United Arab Emirates about showing mercy to animals, even "road kill." The fatwa encourages people to treat animals kindly, and to bury (if possible) any animals that are found dead or accidentally killed. In addition, if one kills an animal accidently on the road, the fatwa advises that one should make a charitable donation in repentance. Islam teaches that all living creatures should be treated with mercy and respect.
