He wants to take her back on condition that she give up the furniture that he put in her name

My husband divorced me and he wants to take me back on condition that I give up the furniture. I have been married for four months.

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

The mahr is a right that the wife has over her husband, whether it is in the form of cash or gold or furniture, as is done in some countries.

For more information please see the answer to question number 2378

Secondly: Listen to Quran online

If the man divorces his wife then wants to take her back, one of two scenarios must apply:

(i)                Where he takes her back after the ‘iddah has ended. In this case, there has to be a new marriage contract and a new mahr, with a guardian and two witnesses. In this case the consent of the wife and her guardian is essential.

(ii)              Where he takes her back during the ‘iddah. In this case there is no new marriage contract or mahr, and the consent of the wife or her guardian is not required.

For more information please see the answer to question no. 75027

Thirdly:

If a man divorces his wife and he owes her any part of the delayed mahr, or the mahr was in the form of furniture, then he wants to take her back on condition that she give up that mahr, this taking back is valid if the woman agrees to that, because it is her right and she has waived it. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The Muslims are bound by their conditions.” Narrated by Abu Dawood (3594) and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

The woman may decide that staying with her husband is better for her than divorce, so she gives up some of her rights to the husband so that he will keep her and not divorce her. Concerning this, Allah revealed the words (interpretation of the meaning): “And if a woman fears cruelty or desertion on her husband’s part, there is no sin on them both if they make terms of peace between themselves; and making peace is better” [al-Nisa’ 4:128]. ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: This refers to a woman who is married to a man who no longer wants to be intimate with her, so he wants to divorce her and marry someone else, and she says to him: Keep me and do not divorce me, then marry someone else, and you are free of the obligation to spend on me or allocate some of your time to me. This is what Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “there is no sin on them both if they make terms of peace between themselves; and making peace is better.”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5206).

Is it permissible for men to wear watches made of gold?

1. I heard that there is a scholarly opinion that it is permissible to wear gold watches on the basis that they are not really jewellery, rather they are like tools or gadgets. Is there such an opinion? Is it trustworthy?
2. I want to become a watchmaker. Is it permissible for me to put together watches that are made of gold?
3. Will it be permissible for me to repair watches made of gold?.

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

It is not permissible for men to wear anything made of gold, whether it is a watch, a ring or anything else.

That is because of the report narrated by Abu Dawood (4057), al-Nasaa’i (5144) and Ibn Maajah (3595) from ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may Allah be pleased with him), according to which the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) took a piece of silk in his right hand and some gold in his left, then he said: “These two are haraam for the men of my ummah.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

Al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said in Sharh Muslim (14/32):

With regard to gold rings, they are haraam for men according to scholarly consensus. The same applies if they are part gold and part silver. Our companions said: If the top of the ring is gold or if it is lightly plated with gold, it is haraam, because of the general meaning of the hadeeth concerning silk and gold, “These two are haraam for the males of my ummah and halaal for the females.” End quote. Listen to Quran online

For more information please see the answer to question no. 87907

The scholars of the Standing Committee for Issuing Fatwas said:

If the watch or its band are made of gold, it is not permissible for men to wear it. If it is not made of gold, then it is permissible for men to wear it. End quote.

Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 24/63

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

There is nothing wrong with gold plated watches for women, but for men they are haraam, because the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade gold to the males of his ummah. End quote.

Majmoo‘ Fataawa wa Rasaa’il Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, 11/62

But if the watch is made of precious stones, not gold, it is permissible for men to wear it, so long as it is not women’s jewellery and does not resemble such, and so long as keeping it is not extravagance.

The scholars of the Standing Committee for Issuing Fatwas said:

Wearing rings is permissible for men if they are made of silver or precious stones, not gold, because of the saheeh report from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), that he wore a ring of silver. Agreed upon. And it is not permissible for men to wear gold rings or to wear any kind of women’s jewellery. End quote.

Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 24/67

Secondly:

With regard to making gold watches, if they are made for women, it is permissible, but if they are made for men, it is haraam, because that comes under the heading of helping the sinner in his sin, and approving of it, and Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Help you one another in Al‑Birr and At‑Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is Severe in punishment” Read Quran online

[al-Maa’idah 5:2].

The same ruling applies to repairing watches made of gold. If it is known or thought most likely that the one who will wear it is a woman, it is permissible to repair them. But if it is known or thought most likely that the one who will wear it is a man, then it is not permissible. The basic principle concerning all of that is that it is not permissible to disobey Allah or to help a sinner in disobeying Allah.

And Allah knows best.

He broke oaths and does not remember how many they were; what should he do?

I went through a period when I used to do something wrong, which was that if I was confused between two matters, I would swear that I would not do one of them so that I could escape this confusion, and sometimes I broke a lot of the oaths. There were many of them are of various types and I cannot remember how many they were. Now I want to offer expiation for them. How can I do that?.

Praise be to Allaah.

You are right in describing what you did as being wrong, because the Muslim should regard the matter of oaths as something serious and not make many of them. Allah condemns those who make oaths a great deal, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) obey you not everyone Hallaaf Maheen (the one who swears much and is a liar or is worthless)”

[al-Qalam 68:14]

“And make not Allaah’s (Name) an excuse in your oaths against your doing good and acting piously, and making peace among mankind. And Allaah is All-Hearer, All-Knower (i.e. do not swear much and if you have sworn against doing something good then give an expiation for the oath and do good)”

[al-Baqarah 2:224].

Abu Bakr al-Jassaas said in Ahkaam al-Qur’aan (1/483): It is as if the meaning is: Allah forbids you from swearing oaths a great deal and being disrspectful towards Allah, may He be exalted, because that is contrary to righteousness and piety; so be righteous and pious. End quote. Listen to Quran online

The scholars have clearly stated that it is not right to swear oaths a great deal. Ibn Qudaamah said in al-Mughni (9/386):

It is not right to be heedless in swearing by Allah (i.e., to do so a great deal), because Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) obey you not everyone Hallaaf Maheen (the one who swears much and is a liar or is worthless)”

[al-Qalam 68:14].

This is a criticism of it which implies that it is not right to do it. End quote.

So long as you swore numerous oaths concerning various matters, you have to offer kafaarat yameen (expiation for breaking an oath) for everything that you swore to do and did not do. Ibn Qudaamah (may Allah have mercy on him) said in al-Mughni (9/406): If he swore oaths of various kinds, and said: By Allah I will not eat…, by Allah I will not drink…, by Allah I will not wear…, and he broke all these oaths, then he has to offer expiation for each oath. This is the view of the majority of the scholars. End quote. Read Quran online

So you have to try hard to work out the number of oaths that you broke, and whatever you think is most likely the number of oaths that you swore and broke, you should offer expiation for them. This is what is stated in a fatwa of the scholars of the Standing Committee for Issuing Fatwas,

Ruling on rushing when reciting and praying

I pray quickly, i.e., I recite Soorat al-Faatihah and other short soorahs quickly, and my movements during the prayer are also fast. Is this permissible or not ?.

Praise be to Allaah.

The Sunnah is for the one who is reciting to recite at a measured pace (tarteel) and not to rush, so that he may ponder and think about what he is reciting, whether it is al-Faatihah or something else. The Sunnah is to ponder, think and recite at a measured pace, not to rush. Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And recite the Qur’aan (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style”

[al-Muzzammil 73:4]

“(This is) a Book (the Qur’aan) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings, that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember”

[Saad 38:29].

Reading so fast that some letters or verses are not pronounced properly is not permissible; rather the worshipper should recite slowly and not be hasty, so that the recitation will be correct and clear, and he can ponder and think about (what he is reciting). If he omits or changes some of the letters, this is a kind of recitation that is not permissible. Rather he has to recite carefully and at a measured pace, so that the letters and words are pronounced in full. The same applies to prayer: he should not rush when bowing or prostrating, or when sitting between the two prostrations, or when standing after bowing. Rather he should move with deliberation and calmly. This is what is required. Moving calmly is an essential obligation; “pecking” and moving hastily in prayer invalidates the prayer.

We advise the questioner to move carefully and calmly when bowing, and not to rush; he should say Subhaan Rabbiy al-‘Azeem three or more times, and he should say: Subhaanaka Allahumma wa bi hamdika, Allaahumma ighfir li (Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise; O Allah, forgive me). When he raises his head from bowing he should settle into the standing posture and say: Rabbana wa laka’l-hamd hamdan katheeran tayyiban mubaarakan fihi mil’ al-samawaati wa mil’ al-ard wa mil’a ma baynahuma wa mil’a ma shi’ta min shay’in ba‘d (Our Lord, to You be praise, much good and blessed praise, filling the heavens, filling the earth, filling what is between them and filling whatever You will besides). This is what is best for him. Saying Rabbana wa laka’l-hamd is obligatory according to the correct opinion. If he completes it by saying hamdan katheeran tayyiban mubaarakan fihi mil’ al-samawaati wa mil’ al-ard wa mil’a ma baynahuma wa mil’a ma shi’ta min shay’in ba‘d, that is more complete and better. Listen to Quran online

And some extra words were narrated from the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): “Ahl al-thana’ wa’l-majd, ahaqqu ma qaala al-‘abd, wa kulluna laka ‘abd, laa maani‘ lima a‘tayta wa la mu‘ti lima mana‘ta, wa la yanfa‘u dha’l-jaddi minka al-jadd (You are the One Who most deserves praise and glorification, (this is) the soundest thing a slave could say, and we are all Your slaves; none can withhold what You give, and none can give what You withhold, and the good fortune of any fortunate person is to no avail against You). This is perfection of praise. Similarly when prostrating, he should not rush, and he should prostrate on the seven parts: the forehead, the nose, the hands, the knees and the toes; he should settle in the posture and not rush, and he should say Subhaan Rabbiy al-A‘la, Subhaan Rabbiy al-A‘la, Subhaan Rabbiy al-A‘la, subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bi hamdika Allaahumma ighfir li (Glory be to my Lord Most High. Glory be to my Lord Most High, Glory be to my Lord Most High, Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise, O Allah, forgive me). He should offer whatever supplication he can, and say: Allaahumma ighfir li dhanbi kullahu diqqahu wa jullahu, awwalahu wa aakhirahu, ‘alaaniyatahu wa sirrahu (O Allah, forgive me all my sins, small and great, first and last, open and secret). This is a prescribed du‘aa’. And the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The closest a person is to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so offer a lot of du‘aa’ then.” And he said: “As for prostration, strive hard in supplication, because it is more likely that you may receive a response.”

The believer should not rush when prostrating; rather he has to settle in the position, as this is one of the essential parts of prayer and is necessary. Yet it is prescribed not to pause to long (in any position) and not to rush, and he should offer du‘aa’ whilst prostrating and repeat the words Subhaana Rabbiy al-A‘la. What is obligatory is to say it once, but repeating it three or five or seven times is better.

Between the two prostrations he should also settle in the posture and not rush. He should sit up between the two prostrations until every vertebra returns to its place, and he should say, Rabb ighfir li, Rabb ighfir li, Rabb ighfir li, Allaahumma ighfir li wa’rhamni wa’hdini wa’jburni wa’rzuqni wa ‘aafini (Lord forgive me, Lord forgive me, Lord forgive me, O Allah forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, comfort me, grant me provision, and grant me well being). All of that was narrated from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and the Muslim should follow the example of his Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and do as he did, and he should not be hasty in such matters, for prayer is the foundation of Islam and prayer is an important matter. Read Quran online

So we advise the questioner to pay attention to this matter and to fear Allah and remember that He is always watching; he should do his prayer at a measured pace, and not rush. Similarly, his recitation should be slow and careful, and not rushed; rather he should recite clearly, pondering and thinking about (what he is reciting), and try to benefit from it. We ask Allah to help and guide us all. End quote.

She makes cards for festivals and sells them – is that permissible

I make handcrafted eid cards as a hobby
and a source of income. I would like to know whether it is Bidah to do
this? I have been told that everything is halal unless it has been
specifically made haram. Please help as this is the time of year that
people buy the cards from me and I really need to know whether I am
doing something wrong.

Praise be to Allaah.

Yes, the basic principle is that transactions are permitted and allowed, and it is
not permissible to describe anything as haraam except with evidence. The
ruling on the cards that you make for festivals varies according to the
festivals in question. If they are cards with greetings for the festivals of
the kuffaar, such as Christmas, or for festivals that are bid’ah
(innovation), such as the birthday of the Prophet (al-Mawlid) or al-Isra’
and al-Mi’raaj, or festivals that involve imitating the kuffaar, such as
national holidays and birthdays, then it is not permissible for you to make
them or sell them, and it is not permissible for anyone to buy them, because
that implies approval of those festivals that go against Islam, and because
it is cooperating in sin and transgression.

But if they
are for Islamic festivals – and there are no Islamic festivals except Eid
al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha – then it is permissible for you to make greetings
cards for them, and it is permissible for you to sell them, so long as you
make sure to use phrases that are prescribed or permissible according to
sharee’ah, such as “May Allaah accept from us and from you” and so on. Read

It is makrooh to pray facing a person’s face

Can I pray if there is someone sitting in a chair in front of me and I can only see his back?.

Praise be to Allaah.

There is nothing wrong with praying behind someone who is sitting if he gives you his back; rather it is makrooh to pray facing his face, if that will distract the one who is praying.

Ibn Qudaamah (may Allah have mercy on him) said in al-Mughni (2/40):

It is makrooh to pray facing a person’s face, because ‘Umar disciplined people for doing so. According to the hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah, the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to pray level with the middle of the bed whilst I was lying down between him and the qiblah. When I needed something, I would not want to get up facing him, so I would slip away. Agreed upon. End quote. Listen to Quran online

Al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said in al-Majmoo‘ (3/230): It is makrooh to pray with a man or woman in front of you, facing him where you can see him. This was regarded as makrooh by ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab and ‘Uthmaan ibn ‘Affaan (may Allah be pleased with them). And because it usually distracts one. It is also makrooh to look at what will distract one, such as a garment with decorations on it, or looking up towards the sky, and other things that are mentioned in the saheeh hadeeths. Al-Bukhaari said in his Saheeh: ‘Uthmaan (may Allah be pleased with him) regarded it as nakrooh to face a man when praying. Al-Bukhaari said: Rather that applies if one will be distracted by that, but if he will not be distracted, Zayd ibn Thaabit said: I do not mind; a man does not interrupt the prayer of another man.

End quote.

With regard to one who is sitting with his back towards the one who is praying, if he does not move and distract the one who is praying, there is nothing wrong with praying behind him, just as there is nothing wrong with praying facing one who is sleeping, because of the report narrated by al-Bukhaari (382) and Muslim (512) from ‘Aa’ishah, the wife of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), who said: I used to sleep in front of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), with my legs in the direction of his qiblah. When he prostrated he would poke me and I would draw my legs up, and when he stood up I would stretch them out. She said: There were no lamps in the houses at that time. Read Quran online

Is it permissible to take back a loan from a man most of whose wealth is haraam?

Is it permissible for me to take my right to take my money and other things (that I lent to him) back from a person most of whose wealth is haraam? If it is not permissible, how can I get my dues?.Reading Quran online

Praise be to Allaah.

Haraam wealth is of two types:

1.     That which is haraam because of the way in which it is acquired, such as that which is taken by means of riba and haraam transactions.

2.     That which is haraam in and of itself, such as stolen and usurped wealth.

It is permissible for you to take your right from the former, because its being haraam applies to the one who acquired it only; in your case, you are taking it by legitimate means.

In the case of the latter, it is not permissible to take anything of it, because it is property that does not belong to the one who stole it or usurped it; rather it belongs to its rightful owner and must be returned to him. Read Quran online

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: That which is haraam because of the way in which it was acquired is haraam for the one who acquired it, such as riba. If the person who dealt with riba dies, his wealth becomes permissible to his heirs. But as for that which is haraam in and of itself, such as alcohol [i.e., if a person died and left behind alcohol], then it is haraam for the one who carries it and the one to whom it is carried. Similarly what is haraam remains haraam, such as usurped and stolen wealth. If a person steals money then dies, it does not become permissible for the heir, and if its real owner is known he should give it to him; otherwise he should give it in charity on his behalf. Pakistani Hindu families seek political asylum in India

Reading Quran online
They've been targeted for kidnapping and murder by the Misunderstanders of the Religion of Peace and Tolerance. "Pak Hindu families seek political asylum in India," from Rediff, December 27 (thanks to Mathews):
Twenty-seven Hindu families from Pakistan's Balochistan province have approached the Indian high commission in Islamabad for political asylum after a series of kidnappings and killings that targeted the minority community, an official has said. Listen to Quran online

Saeed Ahmed Khan, a regional director for the federal Human Rights Ministry, made the revelation while addressing a seminar on the unrest in Balochistan in provincial capital Quetta on Saturday.

"As many as 27 Hindu families from Balochistan have sent applications to the India (High Commission) for asylum in India," he told the seminar that was attended by leaders of political parties and representatives of civil society groups.

In the latest incident targeting the minority community in Balochistan, unidentified men abducted 82-year-old spiritual leader Maharaja Luckmi Chand Garji and four of his companions on Wednesday.

Three of the men were freed later though Garji is yet to be traced. A strike was observed in Khuzdar and nearby areas this week to protest Garji's abduction.

The strike was called by the All Parties Shehri Action Committee, Balochistan National Party, Anjuman-e-Tajiran or traders' association and Baloch Students Organisation.

Khan told the seminar that Hindus had been living in Balochistan for centuries but several members of the community had been kidnapped or murdered in recent weeks.

This, he contended, was forcing Hindus to seek asylum in India. This was a matter of "great concern" and the government should take immediate measures to improve the law and order situation in Balochistan, Khan said....Read Quran online

Islam is a monotheistic religion, civilization and way of life practiced by 1.6 billion people. Easily the world’s fastest growing religion, Islam is not confined to Arabs or Asians. People are accepting Islam in the West, in the Middle Eastern countries, in Africa, Far East and other parts of the world. The following are videos of just a few reverts (out of hundreds who choose Islam as their way of life every day) who accepted Islam. These new Muslims come from a variety of backgrounds and from around the globe. They shared their stories about their past and the important things in their lives that led them to Islam. The Qur'an or the Bible,Which is God's word?

The Qur'an or the Bible,Which is God's word?
Reading Quran online
One of the major sources of corruption of the Bible is translation and translations of translations. With regards to the Gospels of the Christians, there is no record of even writing down any document when Jesus received revelations. It is believed by the Christians that the first records of the teachings of Jesus (A) and his life were made decades after his disappearance and it was in the Greek language. The earliest manuscript available is from the fourth century after Jesus. In the case of the Old Testament, it was written in Hebrew and its dialects, but was destroyed at least twice by the enemies of Judaism in ancient times without leaving a single copy and was rewritten from memory, one of the sources of corruption. The Qur'an was recorded in writing as well as in the memory of many people in the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad (S) and was compiled in book form according to his directions by his companions shortly after his death.

Resurrection or Resuscitation - Islam, Quran, Jesus, Bible

Resurrection or Resuscitation

by Ahmed Deedat:

I was about to leave for the Transvaal (South Africa) on a lecture tour, so I phoned my friend Hafiz Yusuf Dadoo of Standerton, informing him of my impending visit, as well as to inquire whether he needed anything from Durban. He said that as he was taking up Hebrew, I should try and obtain a Bible in the Hebrew language with a translation in English side by side.

I went to the "Bible House" in Durban. Without any difficulty I found the appropriate Bible for my friend, the "Authorized Version," also known as the King James Version, looking for one with the best print and at the cheapest price, I noticed the lady behind the counter had lifted up the telephone to speak to someone. I was out of hearing distance, nor was I interested, but after an exchange with the person on the other side of the line she put her hand on the mouthpiece and addressed me: "Excuse me, sir, are you Mr. Deedat?" I said: "Yes." She said: "The Supervisor of the Bible Society would like to meet you," I agreed. She spoke a few more words into the telephone and replaced the receiver. I said with a smile: "I thought that you were ringing the police." (perhaps because of the number of Bibles I was handling!). - She laughed and said: "No, it was the Rev. Roberts, the Supervisor, who wishes to speak to you."
Winning a Convert

Presently, Rev. Roberts approached me and after introducing himself he gestured to me to hand over to him the Bible which I was holding in my hand. I handed the book. He opened it and began reading to me: "And this is life eternal that they should know Thee the only True God and Jesus Christ whom Thou has sent." (John 17:3). (Subsequently, I checked up the Gospel references of his quotations).

After having listened to his reading of this scripture, I responded with the words: "I accept!" - meaning the implication of the Message he was trying to convey to me. I did not tell him then that what he was trying to convey to me was the same as the Holy Quran was telling mankind for the past fourteen hundred years - that all must believe in the One and Only God Almighty, and Jesus Christ is only a Messenger of God. The words of the Holy Quran are as follows:-

"Most Certainly the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, was an apostle of Allah and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary and a Spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His Apostles" (The Holy Quran 4:171)
Love One Another

Rev. Roberts must have been elated to hear my words "I Accept," to his first quotation. He quickly opened the Bible in another place and began reading these words attributed to Jesus:-

"A new commandment I give unto you. That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love for one another." (John 13:34-35)
A New Convert?

When he had finished reading these verses, I remarked: "Very good!" He was greatly encouraged with my comment. I sincerely meant what I said and there was no pretense. The Reverend found yet another quotation to clinch a convert for Christ. He began:-

"Judge not that ye be not judged." "For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." (Matthew 7:1-2)

To this quotation I responded with the words, "I agree!" My only reason for agreeing and accepting everything that the Reverend was reading to me was not of the "special discount" I was getting from the Bible Society on my purchases, but because these particular quotations were conveying the same message and ideals which Allah subhanahoo wa ta'aala was commanding the Muslims to preach and practice. I would be spiritually jaundiced to take exceptions to what was common to both of us - the Muslim and the Christian. For me to say that an identical message from my Book (the Holy Quran) was very good, but the same message in his Book (the Holy Bible) was very bad would be hypocritical in the extreme. It would be soul shaming untruth. Read Quran online

Obama condemns Pakistan suicide bombing

Obama condemns Pakistan suicide bombing
from Islam 101 - Jihad Watch by Robert

Has he condemned the Christmas jihad attacks in Nigeria and the Philippines? Or is it only a matter of national interest when Muslims get killed? "US President Obama condemns Pakistan suicide bombing," from the BBC, December 25:

US President Barack Obama has condemned as "outrageous" Saturday's deadly suicide bomb attack on a town in north-western Pakistan.

A female bomber killed at least 43 people in the attack on a large crowd receiving food aid in Khar in the Bajaur region.

The town is in tribal areas close to the Afghan border - a Taliban and al-Qaeda stronghold.

People displaced by fighting had been getting food at a distribution centre.

Saturday's bombing was the latest in a string of recent attacks in Pakistan's north-west.
Taliban claim

"I strongly condemn the outrageous terrorist attack in Khar, Pakistan," President Obama said.

"Killing innocent civilians outside a World Food Programme distribution point is an affront to the people of Pakistan, and to all humanity,"

10 reasons to buy Windows 7

10 reasons to buy Windows 7

You told us to make Windows simpler to use, more responsive, and full of new possibilities. We listened—and made loads of improvements. Here's our top 10:

1

A better desktop. Windows 7 gets you around your PC faster than ever. The taskbar has bigger buttons and full-sized previews—and you can pin programs to it for one-click access. Jump Lists provide shortcuts to files, folders, and websites. And Snap, Peek, and Shake give you easy (and fun) new ways to juggle all those open windows.

2

Smarter search. Type in the Start menu search box, and you'll see results instantly, grouped by category—documents, pictures, music, e‑mail, and programs. Search in a folder or library, and you can fine-tune your search with filters like date or file type—and use the preview pane to peek at the contents of your results.

3

Easy sharing with HomeGroup. Sharing files and printers on your home network should be simple. With HomeGroup, it finally is. Connect two or more PCs running Windows 7, and with a minimum of fuss you can start sharing music, pictures, videos, and documents with other people in your home.

4

Built for speed. Windows 7 has key performance improvements to take up less memory and run background services only when you need them. It's designed to run your programs faster and to sleep, resume, and reconnect to wireless networks quicker. And with 64-bit support, you can take full advantage of the latest in powerful 64-bit PCs.

5

Better wireless networking. Connecting to wireless networks on your laptop—formerly a bit of a hassle—now takes just a couple of clicks. Choose from the list of available networks in the taskbar, click one, and then connect. Once you've connected to a network, Windows will remember it so you can connect again later automatically.

6

Windows Touch. Use your fingers to browse the web, flip through photos, and open files and folders on a touchscreen PC—for the first time, Windows includes true multitouch technology. With gestures for zooming, rotating, and even right-clicking, it's a whole new way to work with your PC.

7

Plays well with devices. Device Stage, a new feature in Windows 7, works like a home page for things like portable music players, smartphones, and printers. When you plug a compatible device into your PC, you'll see a menu with information and popular tasks like battery life, how many photos are ready to be downloaded, and printing options.

ISLAM Foul Language In A Muslims Life ?

(ISLAM) Foul Language In A Muslims Life ?

In the name of Allah, the Most-Merciful, the All-Compassionate

"May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon You"

Praise be to Allaah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allaah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allaah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Foul Language In A Muslims Life ?
by Asma bint Shameem

"What the ----------!"

"Hey you, ----------, how are you?"

"Where in the -------- have you been?"

If you listen to the conversation of the average Muslim youth talking to each other, unfortunately this is what you will hear.......expletives, bad words and cusses. In fact, foul language is often heard as part of their everyday life at school, universities and work place.

Whats worse is that they use these words without thinking.....without remorse and without even realizing that these words are obscene, filthy or repulsive....using four letter words in every sentence and in every conversation.

Using the words hell and calling each other dog and gay like its nothing. And these are some of the more decent words. There are other, much worse words that are totally unmentionable. May Allaah protect us.

These people, like their non-Muslim peers, seem to be completely desensitized to the use of foul and offensive words, including many that make others cringe with shame and embarrassment.

Yet, when you reprimand them for using such language, what do they say? "O come on!  This is how everyone talks!" or "This is how I express myself. or "We dont mean it in a bad way, were just joking around with each other!"

Subhaan Allaah!

Calling each other bad names and using foul language!

Since when did that become a joke? Since when did cussing become part of a Muslims vocabulary?

And, sad to say, not only the youth, but even some of the adults are guilty of the same. And, there are some, who may speak very decently under normal circumstances, but when they are provoked or they get into a fight with someone, nothing comes out of their mouths except cusses, bad words and filth.

What a stark contrast between this and what the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) used to do.

The behavior of the Prophet (sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam)

Anas bin Malik said: "The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) was not one who would abuse (others) or say obscene words, or curse (others)..." (Bukhaari)

And Abdullah bin Amr said: "The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) never used bad language neither a Faahish nor a Mutafaahish. He used to say The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character. (Bukhaari)

And he (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: "The believer is not a slanderer, one who curses a great deal, one who indulges in obscenity or who in engages in foul talk." (Tirmidhi-- saheeh by al-Albaani)

What Allaah says about cussing:

".....nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it, to insult ones brother after having Faith [i.e. to call your Muslim brother as: "O sinner", or "O wicked", etc.]. And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed Zaalimoon (wrong-doers). (Surah Hujaraat:11)

Hellfire because of cussing:

Realize, dear brother/sister, that using foul language and cussing is a sin, even in joke and this is a characteristic of the people of Hellfire.

The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said:

"The inmates of Hell are of five types...." And among them he mentioned "...the miser, the liar and those who are in the habit of abusing people and using obscene and foul language." (Muslim)

And while advising Muaadh, (RA), the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: "Restrain this," i.e., your tongue.

I (Muaadh) said: O Messenger of Allaah, will we be called to account for what we say?

He said: "May your mother be bereft of you, O Muaadh! Will people be thrown in Hell on their faces or their noses for anything other than the harvest of their tongues?" (al-Tirmidhi-- Saheeh by al-Albaani)

The worst people on the Day of Judgment

Know that people who use bad words and have dirty mouths will be one of the worst people on the Day of Judgment.

The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: "O Aaishah! Have you ever seen me speaking a bad and dirty language? (Remember that) the worst people in Allahs sight on the Day of Resurrection will be those whom the people desert or leave in order to save themselves from their dirty language or from their transgression." (Bukhaari)

Cussing is evil

Cussing and swearing is so bad that even the angels cannot tolerate it.

Ibn Abbas said, "Two men defamed one another in the time of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. One of them reviled the other who remained silent. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, remained seated. Then the other man answered him back and the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, got up. He was asked, "You got up?" He said, "The angels left, so I left with them. While this man was silent, the angels were answering the one who cursed him. When he answered, the angels left." (Adab al-Mufrad)

It is a sin

Someone asked:

"What should be done with a person who calls a Muslim a dog, pig, or other offensive word? Is it a sin?"

Imaam an-Nawawi said: "It is a sin and he should be punished (tazeer – punishment to be specified by the qaadi/Muslim judge). He also has to repent." (Fataawa al-Imaam al-Nawawi)

Subhaan Allaah! Being punished for calling your Muslim brother dog! And yet, we hear our youth calling each other dog and nigga and much worse, in every sentence, while they think nothing, absolutely nothing of it!

What would Imaam an-Nawawi say if he heard some of the Muslims talking today?!!

What to do?

The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: "Whoever believes in God the Last Day must speak good or keep silent." (Bukhaari)

1. Remember these beautiful words of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) and either speak good or keep quiet.

2. Stay away from foul language, cussing and evil words, because YOU are a Mumin and a Mumin does not utter filthy words or cuss at anyone.

3. Equally important is to stay away from people who speak such bad language. Because the more you hear it, the more desensitized one becomes to its evil, until a time comes when its not bad anymore.

In the end

Bad words show disrespect to those being spoken to and a total lack of self-respect. The one who stays away from filthy language is not being a prude or old-fashioned; rather he /she is a Mumin and a follower of the one with the best manners ever...that is, the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam). Use of such evil words is disrespectful, plain and simple. It is not to be tolerated nor is it an acceptable behavior in Islam.

"Truly a man utters words to which he attaches no importance, and by them he falls into the Fire of Jahannam, and truly a man utters words to which he attaches no importance, and by them Allah raises him into the Garden." (Bukhaari)

Not a word does he (or she) utter but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it) (Surah Qaaf:18) reading quran

Daily Hadith:Virtues of the Prophet (PBUH) and Companions

 Hadith:Virtues of the Prophet (PBUH) and Companions - 4th Muharram 1432 (10th December 2010)

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

Virtues of the Prophet (PBUH) and Companions - 4th Muharram 1432 (10th
December 2010)

Narrated Anas (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

There was a Christian who embraced Islam and read Surat-al-Baqara and
Al-Imran, and he used to write (the revelations) for the Prophet
(Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam). Later on he returned to Christianity again
and he used to say: "Muhammad knows nothing but what I have written for
him." Then Allah caused him to die, and the people buried him, but in the
morning they saw that the earth had thrown his body out. They said, "This
is the act of Muhammad and his companions. They dug the grave of our
companion and took his body out of it because he had run away from them."
They again dug the grave deeply for him, but in the morning they again saw
that the earth had thrown his body out. They said, "This is an act of
Muhammad and his companions. They dug the grave of our companion and threw
his body outside it, for he had run away from them." They dug the grave for
him as deep as they could, but in the morning they again saw that the earth
had thrown his body out. So they believed that what had befallen him was
not done by human beings and had to leave him thrown (on the ground).

Daily Qur'an English Translation of Al-Quran

Daily Qur'an English Translation of Al-Quran

[7]. Surah Al-Araaf [The Heights]

Ayat 96. And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwâ (piety), certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they belied (the Messengers). So We took them (with punishment) for what they used to earn (polytheism and crimes, etc.).
Al Quran
القرآن

Hadith الحديث
English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "A person will be summoned with the one whom he loves".

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Another narration is: The Messenger of Allah  [SAWW](PBUH)  was asked; "What about a person who loves a people but cannot be with them?'' (i.e., either he cannot attain their lofty position of righteousness or that he has not met with them in this life). He  [SAWW](PBUH) replied, "A person will be in the company of those whom he loves".

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Araaf Ayat 96. And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwâ (piety), certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth", Besides bringing to eminence the high merit of entertaining the love for the pious persons, this Hadith tells us about the Mercy and Blessings of Allah which He will shower upon those who love the pious people. Because of this love, Allah will elevate even the inferior people and include them among those whom He loves. This Hadith also serves a warning that association and love with the impious people is extremely dangerous as one can meet the same bad end which is inevitable for them. May Allah save us from it
