The hadeeth “Whoever is afflicted with poverty and refers it to the people, his poverty will not be brought to an end…”

 

What is the status of the hadeeth, “Whoever is afflicted with poverty and refers it to the people, his poverty will not be brought to an end, but whoever refers it to Allaah, Allaah will grant him provision, sooner or later.”

The hadeeth was narrated by al-Tirmidhi (2326) and Abu Dawood
(1645). 

It was classed as saheeh by al-Tirmidhi and al-Haakim
(1/566), and al-Dhahabi agreed with him.
