Chapter: On what is said by one who despairs
of life
911. 'A'isha said, "I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, say while he was resting against me, 'O Allah, forgive me and have mercy
on me and join me to the Highest Friend.'" [Agreed upon]
912. 'A'isha said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and
grant him peace, when he was dying and he had a cup with some water in it. He
would put his hand in the cup and then wipe his face with the water. Then he
said, 'O Allah, help me in the throes of death and the agonies of death.'"
