Chapter: On the excellence of
waiting for the prayer
1061. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him
and grant him peace, said, "Each of you is in the prayer as long as he is
waiting for it and there is nothing but the prayer preventing him from going to
his family." [Agreed upon]
1062. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him
and grant him peace, said, "The angels pray for every one of you as long as you
remain in the place in which you prayed and do not break wudu', saying,
'O Allah, forgive him! O Allah, show mercy to him!'" [al-Bukhari]
1063. Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and
grant him peace, delayed the 'Isha' prayer until the middle of the night
and then prayed. Then he turned his face to us after he had prayed and said,
'The people have prayed and gone to sleep, but you were in prayer the whole time
you were waiting for it.'" [al-Bukhari]
