Quran recitation Competition Held in Syria

The annual Quran memorization and recitation competition sponsored by Iran cultural attaché office in Syria is to be held this summer in Damascus. According to IQNA’s Syria office, participants will compete in the categories of recitation and memorization of 5 and 10 sections (Joz) as well as memorization of the entire Quran. Those wishing to participate in the category of memorizing five or ten  5 or 10 sections must be under 15 and 30 respectively, but in the category of memorization of the entire Quran all age groups are welcome. In the recitation field, participants from all age groups are required to have a good voice besides being familiar with rules of Tajweed. Those interested to attend the contest can sign up for the event at Iran cultural attaché office in Damascus from mid June to early August. The results will be announced in the holy month of Ramadan.
